A company with 50 Years of excellence in Reinsurance, Risk Management and Specialty Casualty was faced with a major challenge, profits were in a downward trend. The parent company was astutely aware of the situation, putting pressure on the president. In order to remedy the situation, the president wanted to reduce the silo mentality, improve collaboration, and enhance accountability, prioritization, trust, goal setting and time management throughout the organization. He felt that this could be accomplished by instilling communication and conflict management thereby helping employees understand the decision-making, personality and processing styles of themselves and colleagues.

 

 

Solution


Together, a 4-phased strategic plan was created for addressing the problem systemically and multi-dimensionally. We started with a training designed for changing counterproductive thoughts, attitudes and behaviors. We moved next to establishing a culture of accountability, responsibility and empowerment. With that as a foundation, we progressed to collaboration, teambuilding, trust, time management, communication and conflict resolution. During this time DISC, Motivators and 360 degree assessment were used for creating individual insights, understanding group dynamics, role assignments, sales interactions and talent enhancements. In addition, consulting and coaching were laced throughout the sessions.

  


Results

The organization established teams that reduced redundancies and increased creativity, buy-in, communication, morale, role responsibility, accountability, sales and profits. The organization became more unified, collaborative and committed. The president was complimented and acknowledged by the parent company as a great leader of change. Today, we continue to work on sustaining this growth so that the new environment continues long-term and is self-perpetuating.
